by Leslie John

Leslie M. John

For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: (Luke 18:32)

For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: (Luke 18:32)

The Holy Bible is unique.  There are thousands of Old Testament prophecies that are fulfilled in the New Testament. Some prophecies about Lord Jesus Christ are as follows:

MICAH 5:2 BETHLEHEM

But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.  (Micah 5:2) Fulfilled in

Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was? (John 7:42)

ZECHARIAH 9:9 KING ON DONKEY

Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you;  righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey,  on a colt, the foal of a donkey. (Zechariah 9:9 ESV) Fulfilled in

“This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying, “Say to the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your king is coming to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden.’” (Matthew 21:4-5 ESV)

ZECHARIAH 11:12 PIECES OF SILVER

And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.  (Zechariah 11:12) Fulfilled in

And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. (Matthew 26:15)

ZECHARIAH 11:13 TEMPLE, POTTER ETC

And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD. (Zechariah 11:13) Fulfilled in

And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;  (Matthew 27:7-9)

ZECHARIAH 13:6 WOUNDS IN HANDS

And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. (Zechariah 13:6) Fulfilled in

And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.  (Mark 3:21)

ISAIAH 53:7 NO DEFENCE, INNOCENT

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7) Fulfilled in

And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. (Matthew 27:12)

ISAIAH 53:9 DIED WITH WICKED BURIED WITH RICH

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  (Isaiah 53:9) Fulfilled in

When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. (Matthew 27:57-60)

PSALM 22:16 CRUCIFIED

For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. (Psalms 22:16)  Fulfilled in

The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth. (Matthew 27:44)

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. (Psalms 22:6)  Fulfilled in

For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: (Luke 18:32)
