“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them” (Luke 21:8)

“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them” (Luke 21:8)

It is usual among people to hurl their indignation on incurring huge expenditure on functions to honor distinguished guests. While it is true that expenditure is inevitable for honoring distinguishing guests the indignation hurled at them would more often than not is not worth the anger. The reason why such anger is expressed usually is because they do not fully understand the purpose.

The creator of this universe, Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Almighty, walked on the earth just as any human would. He was in the form of a servant in the likeness of man to show to the mankind the right way to salvation and eternal bliss. The disciples of Jesus were indignant on the huge expenditure incurred on an alabaster box containing very precious ointment of spikenard being opened and the contents being poured by the woman on the feet of Lord Jesus Christ. The woman bought the ointment at very high price and brought it to the feet of the Lord and worshipped Him.

The Jews did not accept Lord Jesus Christ as their Messiah. It was two days after the feast of the Passover and unleavened bread that the chief priests and the scribes conspired to take hold of Lord Jesus Christ by their crafty intentions and put Him to death. However, they feared to lay hands on Lord Jesus Christ because it was feast day. The people in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper would have caused surely a great uproar if such an attempt was made to lay hold on the savior of the world, Lord Jesus Christ, who sat for a meal there.

“And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made? For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her” (Mark 14:4-5, Matthew 26:7-13)

The Lord knew their indignation and heard their murmurings and said to them to let the woman be free from accusations. He questioned them as to why they were troubling her. He said to them that the poor are there always with them but He would be there with them always. He took note of the good work of the woman and her worship. The Lord attested that her good work to worship Him will be remembered for ever wherever the Gospel is preached. Her action signified the oncoming death and burial of Lord Jesus Christ shortly after the Passover festival.

“She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying” (Mark 14:8)

The devil started working very vigorously from then onward by entering into Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve disciples of Lord Jesus Christ, and Judas Iscariot went unto the chief priests to betray the Lord and receive money in return (Ref. Mark 14:1-10) In Mark Chapters 15 and 16 as also in Matthew Chapters 27 and 28 the details of Lord Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection are mentioned.

Be on the alert always that no one may deceive saying here is Christ and there is Christ. Lord Jesus Christ is the Only Savior and He is coming again soon. He comes this time to judge the world with iron rod.

“And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God” (Revelation 19:15) Accept Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. The LORD Says:

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” (Isaiah 45:22)
